Three book-related things that lit up my childhood - Enid Blyton, who knew exactly what made a cracking children's story; Amar Chitra Katha, which made me fall in love with our own stories; and Target magazine, which made me see, in the most emphatic, visceral way, that being Indian was something to love, cherish and celebrate. All my writing derives in some form or fashion from these three childhood influences."
Roopa Pai has published over 25 books for children, covering the gamut from picture books to chapter books, and fiction to non-fiction, on a variety of themes that include sci-fi fantasy, popular science, math, history, economics, life skills and philosop
Among her best-known books are the 8-part fantasy series, Taranauts, India's first original series in English for children, So You Want to Know About Economics, a beginners' handbook on the subject endorsed by Dr Raghuram Rajan, and the award-winning national bestseller The Gita For Children.
